3-27-2017 LBJ National Historic Park

This morning was so pretty, we decided to do a day trip to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park, and visit the LBJ Ranch. It was kinda cloudy when we left home, but it cleared up to a warm day...  until we crossed I-35 headed west, then it got hot. Oh well, that's motorcycling.

The Historical Park is in downtown Johnson City

Then a quick 13 mile ride farther west to the LBJ Ranch

It's still a working ranch. Cute young 'un's running around... it's calving season

Seems the runway at the ranch wasn't large enough for Air Force One, a Boeing 707 in those days, so this smaller Air Force VIP jet was used to carry LBJ to his ranch landing strip. The SS referred to this jet as AF-1/2.

All in all, about a 12 hour day. Added another 450+ miles to the clock.
